Well SG-1 is finally coming to an end with this season. Had a long run for a scifi show but all shows must end at some point. Just hope the ending is good and not the often "to be continued" sort of ending that most canceled shows get. www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=2&id=37607

from what i been reading they are crossing over the 2, so we will likely get to see our favorite chars from sg-1 in sg-a. worst ending ever for a show IMHO startrek enterprise, so farking stupid.......turned the whole thing into a fooking holodeck simulation.........what a crock of sh@t.........and the show was just getting good IMHO corse enterprise was one of those things that u eather loved or hated, in my case i didnt care for it at first, but after a buddy gave me the first 2 seasons on a dvd(in avi format) i got hooked, it wasnt neerly as bad as i expected, then i got truely hooked, damn them......... maby scifi will be smart and pickup and make new firefly eps, that would rock

Yes, SG-1 and Atlantis ends for this season, BUT there are new seasons just beginning for "Dr. WHO" and my favorite "Battlestar Galactica". I just picked up the "Battlestar Galactica" season 2.5 disks today. Have the complete set. My favorite Sci-Fi series are (or have been): Babylon 5 Farscape Firefly Battlestar Galatica As to Firefly, I don't think there will be any more made. They made a total of 13 episodes for TV. THREE of them did not air until Sci-Fi channel picked them up. You can get the complete Firefly series on DVD for about $15 or less. I already did. Since they moved the final episode to the big screen: "Serenity" and killed off several main characters, the future is in question. I am hoping for a sequel to "Serenity", or several sequels, for that matter.

Not much of a Dr Who fan myself.
Yea Enterprise did have a crappy end but at least it had an end. Farscape didn't get that privledge until the fans complained enough to get a mini series made.
SGA I doubt will last as long as SG1 but I might be surprised.
B5 was very good, I want to get that one on DVD eventually.
BSG is also good, and I hope it gets a good run before scifi cans it too.
Except for BSG and SGA/SG1 there is no reason for me to watch scifi the rerun network.

Well, GL, I have to agree pretty much with on you the "rerun" channel.
There are some good shows on Sci-Fi, but you can count them on one hand (depending on personal preference, of course).
For a network to survive, they need a lot more than that.
Instead, they fill the extra time with garbage.
Even the Sat night movies usually suck. Either they are so censored you cannot stand to watch or just plain "stupid", with very poor acting and even worse special effects.
Maybe someday we Sci-Fi fans will get lucky, but I really doubt it.

I dont so much mind seeing some old shows rerun but the problem is they play the same crap over and over. Esspecially twilight zone, sure it is nice to watch once in a while but they run it continuously every holiday. Most of the shows they do rerun where canceled for good reason...they suck. I have only seen maybe 2 decent movies on their saturday night run the rest are just really stupid. I dont see how they can stay on the air when pretty much all they show is recycled garbage from other networks people didn't watch to begin with. Could go on and on about them. lol
Anyway the SG1 season finale wasn't too bad. I did expect a little more to it but it still wasn't too bad. SGA finale is a bit confusing not sure what is really happening with that. I think the people from that ship they took back to atlantis were replicators too. I guess we'll have to wait and see. :-)
BSG in less than 2 weeks! :-D

I don't know what happened to GOOD Sci-Fi. There are so many books and stories out there.
Additionally, look at Fantasy and Sci-Fi combined. How many Blockbuster movies and sequels have there been? LOTS !!
So it is POPULAR.
Yet when the networks put anything on, it is amost certain the show will be removed after one season, if it makes it that long.
Invasion, Dark Angel, Firefly, Surface, etc., to name a few.
Now the networks came out with Heroes and Jerico. How long do you think they will last? I have not even watched them. If for some reason they make it, I will buy the DVD's of season one.
I expect even MORE of the Sci-Fi channel. AND, I do NOT expect all the censorship they apply to many of the movies. They do not censor Battlestar, so why censor what the call a "made for Sci-Fi movie"?
Makes me more than a little angry.

As with Farscape quite a few people are ticked off about the end of SG1. www.savestargatesg1.com/www.ipetitions.com/petition/SCIFI/Personally I know all shows gotta end and 10 seasons is a long run for any scifi series. Just the handling of the cancelation is what upsets me and lots of people. I'm pretty sure that the last episode in season 10 will leave us all hanging on a big ending like the other seasons. This is going to suck.

Thanks for the links, GL. I checked them out.
I will be one of those boycotting if the show is dropped without an ending.
I posted several "unpopular" comments on the Showtime forums about their shows.
They dropped
"Dead Like Me" "Jerimiah" "Odessy 5"
Heck, Showtime does not even provide links to the old web sites for these shows that I can find. Have to use Google.
I am not happy with the Television entertainment industry these days.

Heh I thought Dead Like Me was on HBO. lol That is one of the few shows I am actually watching on scifi, I know that it was canceled and it doesn't seem half bad so I dont see why it was canceled.
For now I only watching scifi for dlm and bsg, then I'll watch the rest of the season of sga and sg1 later but other than that I not bothering with the channel. I can see more interesting programming on history and discovery and thats sad since I'm a huge scifi fan with nothing to watch.

No, "Dead Like Me" was a Showtime production. It ran for two years they they dropped it without answering many questions. It is also a "hard R" rating, so Sci-Fi has to do a lot of censoring, both language and nudity. That is another reason I get fed up with shows that go to Sci-Fi that were made for HBO or Showtime. Can you imagine "ROME" or "Deadwood" on Sci-Fi? There would be nothing left to watch. ;D

Well only pay channel I bother with is starz and they have enough decent stuff I watch to be worth the subscription, the other channels have old movies and series I probably will never watch and if I did watch them they would get canceled anyway.
BSG is pretty good and I'm sure it gets censored a lot as well but it is still good what they show on tv.

Heroes and Jerico heroes is ok havent gottent to into it personaly
Jerico i think will last , its good, i liked lost as well but couldnt get epsodes after i lost cable net(other ppl use the tv's that time of night around here)
firefly rocked, and they could pickup where the tv seirse left off leading up to the movie, then play the movie on tv and move past it, IF they could get the rights to make new epsodes, firefly could have hit big had it been on any other then FOX, faux sucks so bad, the commercials where crap made it look like some weird cowboys in space thing.....well it kinda was but not anything like the commercials.
scifi needs to start making there own shows again, maby pickup some other good scfi seirse like reddwarf.
oh and dosnt scifi cut the season in 1/2 still? i know they use to for stargates.
atlantis i like, i know some people dont like the cast for one reasion or another(mostly because its not the same as sg1) but once i got use to it, well i like it, good stuff.

scifi rerun seaquest for years
Eureka yea it isn't too bad.
And yup scifi still does this stupid 1/2 season thing they started doing back when Farscape was still on.
New trek wont happen for a long, long time.
Next gen is still the best imo, going back to that with a different crew might be doable but it just wont get the ratings to keep it on the air, and the content most likely won't please the fans.
Reruns of trek on Scifi prob wont be happening either.
A truely original scifi series is hard to come up with, and from what they air on saturdays as "scifi original movies", I really doubt they could come up with a successful tv show of their own. Even if they did they would cancel it after 1.5 seasons...
Really the only semi-original show they have is BSG.
