Clancore announced this project is DEAD.
I never thought it would get off the ground after the first 2 years of delay. Many hoped it would, but logic dictated otherwise.
Sorry to hear the final result, but when it did not get released with the Tribes version it was supposed to, then with contract and other problems, it became a hopeless cause.

yeah tark, i was hopefull but didnt think we would ever see the finnel project finnished, clancore has never finnished a project to date, i dought their new mod for unreal3 will ever be finnished. i think had they a better leader/director it may have been diffrent, and had they done what many of us kept saying and just made a VERY starseige like game insted of working with VUG to get the right to use the starsiege name, well i think they could have gotten alot more done in alot less time, i know the guys at gradge games where trying to be helpfull, but well.......like i said on ashentech, i think trajan probbly wasnt the best choice for a leader of a project like this. i wouldnt be a good choice as a project leader, i know my flaws in that reguard, i would be a good sub leader, im no programer, but i do know when somebodys bullshitting me, also know what makes a good mech game vs what some devs would want in the game because it makes them cream themselves blah, im just sick of good ideas being screwed by stupid people and poor execution!!!!

I doubt I would have done better at it, but then again, I was smart enough to know that in advance. As you said, you know your flaws. I know mine also. And knowing them, would not have attempted such a large project without considerable support and a number of qualified and dedicated people. I knew it would not work as soon as Tribes-V came out without the SS package. One delay always leads to another. Oh well. StarCraft 2 is coming.

sometime next year sc2 is comming.
i think they should have stuck to the ut2k4 mod personaly, and just called it something lese, renamed the units, hell the units could look like high poly versions of ss stuff and guess what, vug couldnt do shit, because ALL MECH GAMES LOOK SIMLAR!!!!
I would have LOVED it had they managed to put up a ut2k4 mod, and it would have been ALOT faster and had ALOT more help avalable, i personaly know 6-8 people who code mods for ut2k4 that would have happly helped with that project, they all agree that the tribes:V mod was doomed from the start due to VUG pushing to hard to get games out early.
and starting a new game from scratch as they did with the torque engine takes time and alot of experianced coders, i just didnt see them having enought skilled detocated people, and they turned down help from people who could have helped for reasions like "your to rude" i can be brusk/rude/mean at times with how i say things, it dosnt mean i dont got the skills to do some jobs, and hell at times you gotta be an ass to get things done(hell trajen is a giant prick 3/4 of the time....)
they shouldnt have given up just because "it may look dated when its done" so fucking what, they could then have used that work as a base for other games, its alot easyer to make new games if you already have a finnished product to start with, i have friends who are game coders for a living, and they all agree its easyer to start with a good pre-excisting base then it is to start from scratch(tho its harder to start if the base needes re-coded because it suck arse as it is!!!!)
blah, sucks, some real company needs to do for SS what Supreme Commander did for TotalAnnilation!!!

oh forgot to say, yes tark i know my flaws, we all have flaws, some of mine are i can be brash/rude at times i can be TO forgiving at times(hard one to keep myself from being.......tho it causes me alot of trouble) i have a hard time confronting people face to face unless they REALLY REALLY piss me off, and then i go overboard most times taking things way to far. had i been lead for a project like this i would have had people under me that delt with most of the managment stuff, like when i was an admin of a UO shard(UltimaOnline privat server) I was in charge, but i effectivly just dirrected people to what needed done, and what needed to not happen, because i wasnt a coder/scripter tho i could edit other peoples item/even sctipts quite well by the end, i wasnt a coder, i had to rely on others to do there work. i fired no less then 30 gm's who slacked off and didnt do their jobs(both in the server and on scripts) i kept some that didnt get alot of new stuff done, but who kept me updated reglarly and who where spending more time looking over current scripts to fix them up, the main reasion i kept them, they kept in touch and let me know exectly what they had fixed(i had another co-admin who did the updates to the scripts once i authed them) managment requiers delogation as well as knowing at least a little about what your managing, hence i wouldnt want to be manager of a game project like this at least not the ground floor stuff, I could deal with the in game balance and item type stuff tho infact im gonna get a buddy to put up a privat SRO server soon as the server EMU software is avalable and i will learn to creat items and edit scripts, but i will also delogate ALOT of that to other people, people i already know will be able to handel it and will keep me up to date on what they are doing
